Product description:
Depression is not entirely understood. But a growing amount of evidence
suggests that depression may be linked to chemical imbalances in the
brain. One of these chemicals, serotonin, is vital for cell-to-cell
communication and plays a significant role in determining how we feel.
If a person's serotonin levels are low, he or she may experience
depressed mood, changes in appetite, sleep problems, anxiety or
restlessness, difficulty concentrating, and other symptoms. Prozac is a
prescription medication that helps relieve these symptoms and other
signs of depression by restoring levels of serotonin in the brain.
How to use this product: Take Prozac (Generic) exactly as
directed by your doctor. The normal prescribed dose for Generic Prozac
is one 20mg or 40 mg capsule a day. For best results, take Prozac at the
same time every day.
Side effects: During clinical studies, the most frequently
reported side effects were nausea, difficulty sleeping, drowsiness,
anxiety, nervousness, weakness, loss of appetite, tremors, dry mouth,
sweating, decreased sex drive, and/or yawning. NOTE: These side effects
tend to go away within a few weeks, and in most cases, aren't serious
enough to stop treatment. If more serious side effects occur during your
treatment with Prozac, such as: allergic reaction, irregular heartbeat,
change in blood pressure, chills or fever, or unusual bleeding or
bruising, stop treatment and seek medical attention.
Precautions: If you've taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs)
within the last 14 days, DO NOT take Prozac. Serious, even fatal
reactions can occur when these two medications are combined. Before
taking Prozac, be sure to tell your doctor if you suffer from any one of
the following conditions: liver disease, kidney disease, diabetes,
seizures, manic disorder, or thoughts of suicide. Also, let your doctor
know if you are pregnant or nursing. Prozac is in the FDA pregnancy
category C, which means that it's not known whether or not Prozac will
be harmful to an unborn baby or nursing infant.
Drug interactions: Before taking Generic Prozac, tell your doctor
if you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications. If
you are taking or have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) within
the last 2 weeks, DO NOT take Prozac. Serious complications can occur.
