Product
description:
If aching joints and pains have stopped you from doing the things you
enjoy, consider taking Celebrex. Celebrex is a prescription medication
approved for the treatment of osteoarthritis, adult rheumatoid
arthritis, painful menstrual cramps, and acute pain. Celebrex stops pain
fast within hours, and provides up to 24 hours of relief with just one
dose. And because Celebrex is more effective at targeting enzymes in the
body that cause pain, it's also gentler on the stomach than Ibuprofen
and other NSAID drugs.
How to
use this product: Take Celebrex exactly as prescribed. Celebrex
comes in two strengths: 100 mg or 200. For acute pain, the recommended
startup dose is 400 mg initially, followed by an additional 200 mg dose
on the first day if needed. For osteoarthritis, the normal startup dose
is one 200 mg dose a day or one 100 mg dose twice daily. And for adult
rheumatoid arthritis the recommended startup dose is 100 to 200 mg twice
daily.
Side
effects: In clinical studies, the most common side effects with
Celebrex were diarrhea, indigestion, and abdominal pain. In rare cases,
serious stomach problems such as bleeding can occur without warning.
Precautions: Do not take Celebrex with aspirin. Taking Celebrex with
aspirin can increase your chances of developing stomach ulcers. Also, do
not take Celebrex if you:
- Are
late in pregnancy.
- Have
had allergic reactions to certain drugs called sulfonamides.
- Have
experienced asthma or allergic reactions after taking aspirin or any
other NSAID drugs.
- Are
allergic to celecoxib, the active ingredient in Celebrex.
Drug
interactions: Before you take Celebrex tell your doctor about all
the prescription and over-the-counter medicines you are taking. If you
are taking a low dose of aspirin to prevent heart attack, consult with
your doctor. Taking aspirin and/or NSAIDS with Celebrex can increase
your chance of developing stomach ulcers.
